What information we collect
When you register for one of our sessions, request information, or buy one of our programmes, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Any answers you give on our registration or booking forms, such as your level of trading experience and what you are hoping to get out of the session
When you buy a paid programme or workshop, our payment provider collects the payment details needed to process it. We do not see or store your full card details. We keep a record that a payment was made, the amount, and the date.
When you use our website, we may also collect:
- Your IP address
- Your browser and device type
- The pages you visited and how you interacted with them
- The website or advert that brought you to us, including campaign tracking information in the web address
How we collect it
Most of the information we hold is information you have given us directly, by filling in a form on our website or on one of our landing pages, by registering for a session, or by booking a call with us.
Some of it is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use our website. See the Cookies section below.
If you reach us through an advert on Facebook or Instagram, we may receive information about which advert you responded to.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
Under UK data protection law we need a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are set out below.
To deliver what you asked for
If you register for a session or book a call, we use your details to register you, send you the joining link, remind you when it is due to start, and follow up afterwards. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in providing the service you signed up for.
To send you marketing
We may send you information by email or WhatsApp about our other programmes, workshops and sessions. Our lawful basis is your consent, or our legitimate interest in marketing similar services to people who have already engaged with us. You can opt out at any time, and every message tells you how.
To take payment and keep records
If you buy from us, we use your details to process the payment and keep the financial records the law requires us to keep. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract and compliance with a legal obligation.
To understand and improve what we do
We look at how people use our website and how our adverts perform so we can improve them. Our lawful basis is your consent for non-essential cookies, and our legitimate interest in running and improving our business.
Marketing messages and how to stop them
You are in control of the marketing you receive from us.
- WhatsApp. Reply STOP to any message we send you and we will stop sending marketing messages to that number. You do not need to explain why.
- Email. Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email.
- Either. Email info@simple-fx.net and ask us to stop. We will action it.
If you opt out of marketing, we may still need to contact you about something you have actively signed up for or paid for, such as sending you the joining link for a session you registered for.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
We do use a number of service providers who process information on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions. These include providers of:
- Customer relationship management and form handling
- Email and WhatsApp message delivery
- Webinar and video hosting
- Appointment booking
- Payment processing
- Website hosting, analytics and advertising measurement
We may also share information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where your information is held
Our customer records are held within the European Economic Area. Some of our service providers are based outside the UK and the EEA. Where information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards permitted under UK data protection law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and then we delete it.
- Enquiry and registration records, where you did not go on to buy: 24 months from your last contact with us
- Customer records, where you bought a programme: six years from the end of our relationship
- Financial and tax records: six years from the end of the relevant financial year, as required by law
- Records of people who have opted out of marketing: kept indefinitely, so we can make sure we do not contact you again
Cookies and tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are essential to make the site work. Others help us understand how the site is used and measure how our advertising performs, including tools provided by Google and Meta.
You can control cookies through your browser settings at any time, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking non-essential cookies will not stop you using the site.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to restrict how we use it
- Object to us using it, including for direct marketing
- Ask us to transfer it to another organisation
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we relied on consent
To exercise any of these, email info@simple-fx.net. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, by phone on 0303 123 1113, or by post to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. We would ask you to raise it with us first so we have the chance to put it right.
Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Risk warning
Simple FX provides education and training. Nothing on our website or in our sessions is personal financial advice or a recommendation to trade. Trading carries risk and you can lose money.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we will make that clear on this page.
